As part of the preparation for the celebration of the 150 years of the association, we want to share a brochure document that we have received from Chile, particularly from the Héctor Medina Talloni center, which highlights the historical memory of the Association in a very simple way, with the figure of a couple “Cecilia and Gerónimo” as “Testimonies of a Vocation”.
The idea is that this can be disseminated not only in this region but with all our Salesian cooperating brothers, taking into account that historical memory favors communion and the sense of belonging of the members of an organization like ours and, in a very special, with the appreciation and living and permanent memory of the figure of two highly appreciated people.
An important fact is that it was Father Egidio Viganó who asked the couple, Cecilia Cotti-Cometti and Gerónimo Cominetti, to lead the Association of Salesian Cooperators in the province of San Gabriel Arcángel (Chile), a service that they accepted with great availability and generosity. In other words, they were fundamental people in the relaunch of the Association in Chile and in the strengthening of the Salesian Family as we know it today.
It is our dream to continue moving forward with these initiatives to continue strengthening the Association and to always be able to count on these valuable contributions that motivate and make us have a grateful memory with those who preceded us on this path.
May the Holy Spirit and our mother Mary Help of Christians inspire and accompany us, for the strengthening and growth of our Association.
