On Saturday, August 22, the First Regional Meeting of Youth Ministry and Family Coordinators was held virtually, providing a space for encounter, formation and exchange that brought together more than 72 participants from the 13 countries that make up the Region.

The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the identity and mission of this new area, as well as to raise awareness of the important role it is called to play in animating and strengthening Local Centres and national and provincial structures. In this way, the aim is to foster increasingly active, coordinated and interconnected participation in the service of the mission.

Martín, Regional Councillor, welcomed the participants and shared the conclusions of the World Congress of the Association, held in Rome in May of this year, in relation to the theme of youth and family.

Following this, Ana Verónica Rodríguez, from the Dominican Republic and Regional Coordinator of the area, presented the service carried out through the Youth Ministry and Family area.

The young people who participated in the World Congress then shared their experiences: María Rafaela, from Cuba, and Federico Parada, from the United States.

The meeting also included a space for questions, answers and good practices, during which experiences from Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and the United States were shared, thus strengthening exchange and collaboration among the countries of the Region.

The activity was coordinated by Ana Verónica Rodríguez, who is responsible for the area at the regional level, together with the Provincial Councillors for Youth Ministry and Family.
