In line with Pope Francis’ call for the month of September 2024, entitled “Cry for the Earth,” our pre-teens and teens, along with three Salesian Cooperator animators, an aspirant, and our Parish Priest, Father Tim Zak, joined this cause last Saturday, August 31, 2024.

For the second consecutive year, we participated in the 3rd Recycling Cup organized by the Recycling Museum of the Recycling Community Corporation of the North Inc. P.T., held at Hatillo Beach. This initiative offered various ways to contribute to the care of the environment, including beach cleanups, tree planting, and environmental workshops.

As part of our commitment to the care of our common home, we promoted Recycling, Reuse, Reduction, Reforestation, and Composting practices. The activity also included Environmental Education sessions and Green Hours. Two of our tweens and teens earned 5 hours credited toward their school curriculum, and uneaten food was reused.

This year, all participants were asked to bring their own cup to reduce waste.
