Between 11 and 16 August, the Synod of Youth of the Salesian Youth Movement took place in Valdocco and Colle Don Bosco, a meeting of young people from all over the world to remember in a dynamic synodal reflection the 200th anniversary of the dream that lasted 9 years. celebration and party.
Some young Salesian cooperators and aspirants, including members of the MGS, were able to participate in this event. We share some of their testimonies here.

Dear all,
We are three young Salesian Cooperators from Italy and we would like to share with you our experience at the Salesian Synod of Youth, which took place at Colle Don Bosco in August.
They were precious days of deepening of Salesian spirituality and charism and, above all, they were days of meeting. We searched among the participants of the Synod (about 300 young people from 94 countries) all the young cooperators and we found ourselves in 14 young people, coming from 10 different nations including Slovenia, Poland, Nigeria, Dominican Republic, Lebanon, Bolivia, Italy, Colombia, America and Austria.
We had a moment of comparison and exchange in which each one shared their own experience, their dream and the path of formation that led them to make the Promise.
Listening to their paths reminded us (and helped us to see concretely) that we share the Salesian charism throughout the world and we are the presence and proposal of the Salesian charism for many young people.
The wish that Don Angel left us is to live this lay vocation in the world, carrying forward the dream of Don Bosco, in our realities.
We conclude with an invitation addressed to everyone: “Come and See!” Because only by experiencing the beauty of this vocation, can one become an instrument of holiness for others.
Good journey to everyone.
Mireia Muñoz (ASSCC Aspirant Badalona, Province of Mare de Deu de la Mercé, Spain)
Hello! I am Mireia Muñoz Manzanares, aspiring Salesian cooperator of the work of Badalona and I am part of the council of the SYM. I had the immense honor of
participating in the Synod of Salesian Youth 2024, a historic meeting that commemorates the 200th anniversary of the dream that Don Bosco had at the age of 9.
Imagine, more than 300 young people of 93 different nationalities gathered in the same place, all with the same purpose: to dream together for the future. Guided by the document “Instrumentum Laboris”, born from the dreams and desires of young people from all over the world, we meet in linguistic groups to share our dreams: for the Church, for society and for the Salesian Youth Movement. Those dreams were transformed into five documents – one for each language – which were then approved in the assembly. These texts will be developed by the Salesians in the next chapter and I cannot help but feel very fortunate to have been part of this process.
And it was not just work. We were surrounded by moments of prayer, reflection and celebration. We also had the privilege of saying goodbye to Fr Ángel Fernández Artime
on his last days as Rector Major. His farewell mass was a moment full of emotion, a celebration attended by young people from all over the world
They contributed their grain.
I am filled with deep gratitude for having shared this experience with such different people, united by joy and the Salesian spirit that inspires us.
But now comes the real challenge: to bring this document to the entire Salesian Family and to work on it in our homes. I am convinced that if we do this
With the same spirit of unity and commitment, we will move forward together as the synodal Church that we are called to be. Let us continue to dream and build the future together!
