New SSCC and Don Bosco’s Anniversary in the BMA Province

On August 15, the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, the Salesian Cooperators (SSCC) of the Amazonas and Pará regions celebrated the arrival of new Salesian Cooperators into the Association. In the city of Castanhal, Pará, aspirant Adrieni Sousa (photo 1) made her apostolic promises, and six SSCC members from that city renewed their promises, as established by the SSCC Apostolic Life Project, at the Cidade Dom Bosco Community (FMA). This celebration was presided over by Fr. Jefferson Luiz, SDB, with the support of the administrative and formation counselors of the BMA Province (photo 2).

This group will soon form a new Local Center (LC) in Castanhal; however, until this can be established, they are linked to the Belém CL, which accompanies them in formation (photo 3) and other activities.

On the same date, in the city of Manaus, Amazonas, seven aspirants: Bianca Silva, Carmem Pereira, Fabiana Farias, Lucas da Silva, Marcelo Silva, Socorro Cruz,
Suely da Silva, professed their apostolic promises (photos 4 and 5) in a celebration held at the Parish of Saint Joseph the Worker Aleixo, presided over by Father Felipe Bauzière, SDB, inspector at ISMA. Both celebrations were attended by representatives of the BMA Provincial Council, SSCC, SDB, FMA, and members of other Salesian Family groups (photo 6).

On August 23, in the Rondônia area, initial formation began for a class of twenty-five aspiring Salesian Cooperators. The formation will be conducted jointly by the Dom Bosco and Laura Vicuña Local Centers, located in the city of Porto Velho, Rondônia (photo 7). And also, on this last August 24th, the SSCC of the São José Local Center, in Manaus-AM, led a Retreat promoted for oratory coordinators and animators, held at Casa Mons.
