
1. New Salesian Cooperator in the Mexico South Province
On January 29, 2026, at the Laura Vicuña School in the community of Capulli del Valle, Coacalco de Berriozábal, State of Mexico, a Eucharist in honor of Don Bosco was celebrated. In this festive setting, Maribel Castillo Hernández made her promise as a Salesian Cooperator. The celebration was presided over by Fr. Marco Antonio Aburto García, SDB, in the presence of middle‑school students and the educational community. The promise was received, on behalf of the Provincial Council, by María Guadalupe López Colmenares, Provincial Formation Coordinator. During the ceremony, the new Salesian Cooperator received the Project of Apostolic Life, a candle —sign of the light of Christ—, salt, as a call to be “salt of the world,” and yeast, symbol of her mission to be leaven in society.
2. Beginning of the 150th Anniversary Celebration – Dominican Republic, Antilles Province
As part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Salesian Cooperators, the National Council of the Dominican Republic invited all Cooperators in the country to joyfully and gratefully participate in the activities of the Jubilee Year, held on February 1. Three Salesian houses simultaneously welcomed the Cooperators in different regions of the country: in Santo Domingo, the San Juan Bosco Parish; in the Cibao region, the Santo Domingo Savio Parish; and in the South, in Barahona, the Don Bosco Chapel. In an atmosphere of faith and fraternity, the members offered thanksgiving to God for the gift of the vocation and the Salesian mission. At the end of the Eucharist, they shared a fraternal gathering around midday, strengthening the bonds of communion and family that characterize the Salesian charism.
3. Spiritual Exercises of the Salesian Cooperators – El Salvador, CAM North Province
On February 7 and 8, 53 Salesian Cooperators from five local centers gathered at the Sacred Heart Retreat House in Ayagualo to live their annual Spiritual Exercises. It was a privileged time of encounter, reflection, and spiritual renewal in an atmosphere of fraternity and communion. Under the motto “Believers, free to serve,” the retreat was preached by a Salesian Cooperator, who guided participants through a deep journey of faith and apostolic commitment. This experience is the first of two Spiritual Exercise sessions for promised members, organized by the National Council of El Salvador under the coordination of David Aguilar, Salesian Cooperator and National Councillor for Ongoing Formation, with the support of local formation councillors.
4. New Provincial Council of Canada 🇨🇦
On Sunday, February 8, the Salesian Cooperators of Canada held their Provincial Congress in hybrid format. Local centers participated in person and connected virtually via Zoom. The main venue was Toronto, with in‑person participation from the local centers of Montreal (both centers together), Sherbrooke, Edmonton, and Surrey. The Congress had a formative, elective, and expository character, strengthening communion and associative commitment. The event was accompanied by Martín Calderón, Regional Councillor, and Juanita Silva, Formation Coordinator, who offered a presentation. During the Congress, the election process for the new Provincial Councillors took place. The roles were finalized in a virtual meeting on Monday, February 9, with the Delegate, the Provincial Delegate, and the Regional Councillor present. 5. CAM South Provincial Congress 2026–2029
From February 21 to 23, the Salesian Cooperators of Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama held the CAM South Provincial Congress. Thirty‑six members participated in person and nine virtually. The Congress was accompanied by Martín Calderón, World Councillor for the Interamerica Region, who offered spaces for dialogue, animation, and a central conference that illuminated the path of the Association for the new triennium. On Sunday, the new Provincial Council for the 2026–2029 period was elected: Provincial Coordinator: Agustín Almario Administrator: Ángel Rodríguez Secretary: Delia Rodríguez Formation: Gustavo Parra Communication: Fabricio Umaña Youth Ministry & Family: Carolina Castillo Vocation Promotion: Margarita Fuentes Also present were Fr. René Santos, Provincial Delegate; Fr. Manuel Gómez, Regional Delegate for the Association; Sr. Lydia Flórez and Fr. David Panezo, national delegates for the Association in Panama. The brothers and sisters from Nicaragua participated through remote in‑person voting, ensuring their active involvement in this important provincial process. The Congress was held at the Emmaus Retreat House in Panama City.
