1. 6th Regional Meeting of Formators – Interamerican Region

From September 25 to 28, 2025, the Salesian Cooperators of the Interamerican Region held their 6th Regional Formative Meeting at the Archdiocesan House María de la Altagracia in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The meeting was attended by Antonio Boccia, World Coordinator of the Association, accompanied by his wife Francesca. A total of 82 Salesian Cooperators, delegates from Canada, the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and one Cooperator from Argentina participated. Under the motto: “Pilgrims of Hope with the young, relaunching our identity towards the future”, participants reflected on the mission to strengthen regional fraternity, renew Salesian identity, and project themselves with new leadership. The event featured keynote addresses by Antonio Boccia (World Coordinator), Sr. Aracely Mayorga (FMA Regional Delegate, virtually), and Martín Calderón (Regional Councillor). The program included thematic workshops, dialogue spaces, Eucharistic celebrations, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and moments of fraternity. Highlights included the jubilee pilgrimage to the Sacred Heart Parish, a jubilee temple, and the visit to the “Apprentices with Don Bosco” Oratory, where children welcomed participants with songs and dances. Cooperators shared gifts with them as a sign of gratitude. The 60th anniversary of religious profession of Sr. Alphonsine Roy, Delegate of the Association in Canada, was also celebrated. She renewed her vows accompanied by the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and received the affection of all participants. The meeting was organized by the Regional Secretariat, with support from Cooperators across the Region, especially from the Antilles Province, led by the Dominican Republic. The event concluded with a communal prayer in which a lit candle—symbol of unity, light, and hope—was passed from province to province, sharing the light of the Salesian mission. With gratitude and joy, participants returned to their countries strengthened in their vocation and commitment to be pilgrims of hope alongside the young.

2. Provincial Congress – United States West

From October 10 to 12, 55 local councillors from 9 of the 11 centers of the United States West Province gathered at the Mexican American Catholic College (San Antonio, Texas) to elect the new Provincial Council for the 2025–2028 term. The meeting began with a warm welcome to participants and concluded with the “Good Night” reflection led by our Regional Councillor, Martín Calderón. Provincial Coordinator Alex del Carmen presented the current state of the Province and invited everyone to continue growing with hope and commitment. Due to health reasons, Alex was unable to attend in person but sent his message with deep Salesian spirit. Throughout the day, the various centers shared who they are, their apostolates, number of promised members and aspirants, strengthening bonds of communion and mutual understanding across the Province. On the second day of the Provincial Congress, 12 Salesian Cooperators were elected to form the new Provincial Council for the 2025–2028 term. Among them, Mike Álvarez was elected as the new Provincial Coordinator of the Association in the United States West.

3. Spiritual Exercises of the Salesian Cooperators in Guatemala – CAM North Province

From October 10 to 12, the Salesian Philosophical Institute “Manuel Enrique Piñol” hosted the annual Spiritual Exercises of the Salesian Cooperators, held under the motto: “A dream, a promise, and the future.” A total of 58 Salesian Cooperators and 4 aspirants from 7 local centers participated, experiencing three days of deep spiritual renewal marked by silence, prayer, and discernment. Significant moments included the enthronement of the relic of Don Bosco, the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Eucharistic Adoration—spaces that helped renew their commitment to Christ and the Salesian vocation. The closing Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Mario Aldana, SDB, director of the work. During the Mass, the Salesian Cooperators renewed their promise, reaffirming their desire to continue building the Kingdom of God in the style of Don Bosco. The entire activity was coordinated by the Santo Domingo Savio Center, with support and animation from the national Consulta. Sr. Ana Esther Márquez, FMA, delegate of the Heriberto Herrera Center, accompanied the entire retreat. The Exercises concluded with the General Assembly of the Association in Guatemala.

4. First Gathering of Aspirants to Salesian Cooperators – Mexico South Province

On October 4, 2025, the Salesian Youth Center of Coacalco (State of Mexico) hosted the first gathering of aspirants to the Salesian Cooperators, convened by SC María Guadalupe López Colmenares, Provincial Councillor for Formation. The gathering was held both in-person and virtually, allowing the participation of 15 aspirants from the CRIMABO, Madre Antonieta Böhm, Yolia, and Main Centers; and virtually, 22 aspirants from Puebla, Chiapas, and the State of Mexico. The meeting began with a special prayer and the enthronement of the relic of Don Bosco, led by Sr. Leticia Navarrete, FMA, Provincial Delegate of the Salesian Family. Formation topics were presented by Sr. Leticia Navarrete FMA, SC Agustín Leopoldo Bautista Cisneros, and SC María Guadalupe López Colmenares. Four FMA Sisters from various Local Centers also accompanied the event. The gathering concluded with the Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Jorge Ruiz SDB, Provincial Delegate. It was a day filled with Salesian spirit, communion, and shared joy.

5. 13 New Salesian Cooperators in the Dominican Republic – Antilles Province

On Sunday, October 12, the Salesian Family of the Dominican Republic celebrated with great joy the promise of 13 new Salesian Cooperators of the Antilles Province. The Eucharistic celebration took place at the Salesian Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the city of Moca and was presided over by Fr. José Pastor Ramírez, Provincial of the Antilles, who received the promises on behalf of the Rector Major. On behalf of the Association of Salesian Cooperators, the promises were received by Provincial Coordinator Franklin Ortega, accompanied by members of the Provincial Council, National Council, and SSCC from the Local Centers of the Dominican Republic. Families, friends, aspirants, and members of the various branches of the Salesian Family joyfully accompanied this moment of faith and commitment. After the Eucharist, all shared a fraternal and festive gathering, an expression of the family spirit that characterizes Don Bosco’s charism. During the celebration, a message sent by Martín Calderón, World Councillor for the Interamerican Region, was read. The new Cooperators belong to the Local Center Sacred Heart of Jesus in Moca, a city located about 200 km from Santo Domingo.
