Message from Antonio Boccia on the feast of Mary Help of Christians.

We share the message of our World Coordinator, Antonio Boccia, on the feast of Mary Help of Christians.

“…I will give you a teacher”

“…when a venerable man appeared, dressed in a white cloak and with a luminous face.
This man called Don Bosco by name and ordered him to guide those children with meekness and charity, teaching them the ugliness of sin and the preciousness of virtue.
Confused and scared, Don Bosco asked how he could do all this, since he was just a poor and ignorant child.
The man replied that he would give him a teacher under whose discipline he could acquire the necessary science…”
In her dream, Mary placed her hand on the head of Don Bosco who, in her life, will entrust himself totally to her.
From Mary’s life and character we learn:
Trust in God: Mary demonstrated unconditional trust in God. She accepted the annunciation of the Angel Gabriel with humility and obedience, saying: “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word” (Luke 1, 38). Her trust in divine will teaches us to rely on God even when circumstances seem difficult or mysterious.
Humility: Mary considered herself a “servant of the Lord”. Despite her extraordinary role as the mother of Jesus, she remained humble and aware of her dependence on God. Her humility helps us recognize our limitations and seek God’s grace.
Fidelity: Mary was faithful to God throughout her life. She faced challenges such as the birth of Jesus in a stable and the Crucifixion, but she remained faithful to her mission. Her consistency reminds us of the importance of remaining faithful even when circumstances are difficult.
Motherly Love: Mary was a loving mother to Jesus. She nurtured, protected and supported her son throughout his childhood and beyond. Her motherly love teaches us the importance of caring for others and being compassionate.
Prayer: Mary participated in community and personal prayer. She was present in the Upper Room during Pentecost (Acts 1, 14; 2, 1-4). Her prayer life encourages us to seek a deep relationship with God through prayer.
Mary’s life offers us examples of trust, humility, faithfulness, love and prayer to be “humble, strong and robust” as she lovingly said to Don Bosco.
We ask Mary to place her hand on our head.
Happy Holidays to each and everyone
