🇬🇧 Magnificat Humanitas, a reading from the perspective of the PVA. Antonio Boccia, World Coordinator 2018‑2026, offers us this formative resource, aligned with some of the dreams and challenges presented at the VI World Congress.
Among the commitments I have tried to carry forward during these years of service as World Coordinator, one has been to encourage the Salesian Cooperators to truly make the documents of the Church their own. Not as compulsory reading, nor as material to be added to the many papers already present in our archives, but as a living tool to understand the time in which we live and to guide our action.
The PVA explicitly foresees this: the “Documents of the Church” appear among the sources of initial formation (Reg. Art. 15 §2), and permanent formation asks that time be dedicated to the study of the Church’s doctrine (Reg. Art. 16 §1). But between foreseeing it and actually doing it, there is often a gap worth bridging. Not only out of a sense of duty, but because in these texts the Church helps us read reality without fear and without naivety.
Antonio Boccia, World Coordinator 2018–2026.
