Italy: Youth Ministry Assembly of Salesian Italy

Rome, Italy – July 2024 – The Youth Pastoral Assembly of Salesian Italy took place on 12 July at the National Center of Salesian Works. The summer meeting, the second after the one in January, brings together the coordinators of the national offices and those in charge of the connections, with the managers of the Cnos bodies, as well as the lay directors of the national associations and lay people with roles of national responsibility, the San Lorenzo Community and the council of the CEP of the National Center and the leaders of the Salesian Family.
A first moment of the assembly was dedicated to listening to the experience of the Friars of the SOG, the Youth Orientation Service of the Friars Minor of Umbria and Sardinia, with Brother Mirko Mazzocato who recounted the birth of the SOG and the theme of the first announcement thus how it is implemented in the courses offered to young people. This moment of discussion was preparatory to the information relating to the seminar on the first announcement of the Mediterranean Region which will be held in Madrid in October: the main lines of the seminar were outlined in June, during the meeting between the national centers of Italy and Spain; Registration details and the final program will be released in the coming weeks. In the second part of the meeting there was space for the end-of-year pastoral reports of the national offices, during which various topics were addressed.
