In-person meeting of the team in charge of developing the initial formation path of the Italy-Middle East-Malta Region.
On 18-19-20 October, the members of the team in charge of developing the initial formation path by the Regional Consulta met in person in Rome.
The team, made up of the SDB Regional Delegate, the FMA Regional Delegate and Salesian Cooperators from all over Italy and the Middle East, received the assignment from the Regional Consulta in January 2023 and since then has worked hard, in a mixed online-presence mode, to give it to those who wish to engage in a journey of discernment to respond to the vocation of a Christian committed to living the Gospel in a Salesian style.
The starting point of the work was the analysis of what has already been achieved in the various Provinces in recent years, capturing the most significant aspects, to then create a unitary project, in line with the current social, cultural, ecclesial and associative reality.
In the meeting in person in Rome, the situation was taken stock of what has been done so far and the main points of the work still to be done were set. However, the most significant fact of this meeting was certainly the moment in which the team in charge of the drafting presented an “extract” of the work done to the coordinators of the various Provinces gathered in the Consulta, asking them to become “trainers for an hour” and try to develop a training meeting for aspiring Salesian Cooperators with the material provided. This “laboratory presentation” method certainly put the Provincial Coordinators in a position to “savour” the work that is being carried out and at the same time gave the team members the measure of the real possibilities of realizing the choices made.
