(Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, Aug 2026). On Sunday, 30 August 2026, the Association of Salesian Cooperators of Vietnam held the election of its Provincial Council for the term 2026-2029 at the Salesian Provincialate in Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City. The new Provincial Council members are:
Provincial Coordinator: Mr Joseph Ha Van Minh
Vice Provincial Coordinator: Mr. Joseph Nguyen Cong Cuong
Formation Councilor: Ms. Maria Nguyen Thi Lien Minh Minh
Secretary and Communication Councilor: Ms. Maria Bach Thi Cam Van
Administration: Mr. Peter Nguyen Van Nha
Apostolic Mission: Ms. Anna Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen
Youth Activities and Liturgy: Ms. Maria Truong Ngoc Thao Vy
Present in the event who joined the 78 Salesian Cooperators from 17 Local Centers were the incumbent members of the Provincial Council with the SDB Provincial Superior Fr. Barnaba Le An Phong, SDB, ASC SDB Province Delegate Bro. Martin Bui Van Luan, SDB, ASC FMA Province Delegate Sr. Maria Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, FMA and EAO Region FMA Delegate Sr Anna Tran Thi Sang, FMA.
The Congress started with a prayer and a reflection on the Word of God, asking the Holy Spirit for wisdom and guidance in the discernment and election process. The outgoing Provincial Council presented its report for the 2023-2026 term, followed by a sharing on the dreams and future direction of the Association for 2026-2032 drawn from the message of immediate past World Coordinator, Mr. Antonio Boccia at the VI World Congress in Rome on May 2026.
The election was conducted in accordance with the approved Provincial Congress Regulations. Ten eligible candidates were presented, and voting was carried out by secret ballot. A total of 787 valid ballots were counted at the venue, together with two (2) ballots from remote venue in Maddalena Morano Center in Hanoi. The remote venue was authorized by the current World Coordinator Borja Perez in view of geographical distance.
The new Provincial Council was officially presented to the assembly. On behalf of the new Council, Mr Joseph Ha Van Minh expressed gratitude and accepted the responsibility of serving the Association for new term 2026-2029. He enjoined all Centers to continue walking together in communion and collaboration, strengthening the identity and mission of Salesian Cooperators in loving, serving and accompanying young people.
The Congress was concluded at 12:30pm in an atmosphere of joy and communion. The gathering ended with thanksgiving and blessings from Fr. Barnaba Le An Phong, SDB, Provincial Superior of Salesians of Don Bosco. The Salesian Cooperators of Vietnam entrust the new Provincial Council to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and look forward to a new three-year journey of communion, formation, shared responsibility and service to young people.
