The SSCC of Ecuador celebrate the canonization of Sister Troncatti

Sister Maria Troncatti: a saint with a Salesian heart On October 20, the Church joyfully celebrated the canonization of Sister Maria Troncatti, Daughter of Mary Help of Christians, missionary in the Ecuadorian Amazon and living witness of the Salesian charism. Her life, given with tenderness and courage in service to the poorest, especially the Shuar people, reminds us that holiness is built in daily life: in every gesture of love, every word of comfort, every act of hope. Sister Maria not only healed bodies, but also hearts. Her firm faith, simple joy, and deep trust in God reflected what it means “to be a sign and bearer of God’s love to the young.” As Salesian Cooperators, her example invites us to renew our mission: to serve with humility, to share with joy, and to live with active faith in the world. Today, Sister Maria Troncatti is a saint; but above all, she is a guide in our Salesian journey.
