Jakarta, Indonesia (March 2024). In his post to his social media account, Fr Noel Villafuerte, SDB shared the lenten activity in form of Lenten Tour this 2024 of the lone Local Center in Indonesia. ASC Indonesia is a work in progress to become a new ASC Province in the East Asia Oceania (EAO) Region.
On the 4th Sunday of Lent, 17 Salesian Cooperators of the Sunter Local Center with the accompaniment of Salesian Delegate Fr. Noel Villafuerte, SDB held a four-day dubbed as Ro-Ro (Rohani-Rohana) Lenten Tour that was marked by Pilgrimage, Charity and Recreational Tour of Central Java. The activity aimed to have a true spirit of Lenten prayer, mortification and sharing. The group journeyed through Purwodadi, Semarang, Yogyakarta and neighbouring cities which main destination was the school and boarding house for boys in Purwodadi. The group brought with them sets of school supplies, toiletries and food stuff for each of the kids and for their teachers. There were talks about joy of sharing and caring. Further visits to Marian Shrines were opportunies to express their faith and devotions through praying the rosary and Way of the Cross. The activity was concluded with combined spiritual and recreational activities as characterized by Salesian trademark of joy, spontaneity, simplicity and cheerfulness. (Fr. Noel Villafuerte,SDB)
