The SSCC of the Don Bosco Province of Port‑Gentil in communion with Rome

The VI World Congress of the Salesian Cooperators was held in Rome (Italy) from 7 to 10 May 2026 under the theme: “Being leaven to be fruitful”. Among the participants were Yolande Gisèle OSSAVOU, Provincial Coordinator, and Annick Rachel OSSAVOU DOUMBE, Provincial Administrator.

Wishing to live this global communion fully, the Salesian Cooperators of the Don Bosco Province of Port‑Gentil marked the occasion with a series of activities on Saturday, 9 May 2026.

The day began with a thanksgiving Mass, celebrated in an atmosphere of prayer and fervour, entrusting to the Lord the work of the Congress and the mission of the SSCC worldwide.

A mini football and basketball tournament then brought together many young people. Eight teams in total (four in each sport) participated, showing a beautiful spirit of fraternity and engagement.

Faithful to Don Bosco’s intuition —meeting God through the young— the Cooperators lived a day filled with joy, sharing and teamwork. Beyond the sports results, the initiative strengthened the bonds between young people and the Church, promoting values such as discipline, respect and solidarity.

Participants expressed their satisfaction and the hope that such activities may multiply, not only in the parish but also in popular neighbourhoods.

The day ended in a festive and fraternal atmosphere. The Provincial Secretary, Wilfried Nicaise MOUNANGA MBAMBA, thanked the young people and, together with other Cooperators, presented the awards to the teams.

The initiative concluded with a friendly gathering, sealing a day marked by communion, youth and Salesian commitment.
