“The seeds that fell on good soil bore fruit.”
In 2010 the Salesians of Don Bosco handed over the Rocafuerte Parish in Manabí, but the end of a cycle was the beginning of a new one, because lay people, who had grown pastorally with the Salesians, made the promise as Salesian Cooperators and in co-responsibility with The “Our Lady of Carmen” Parish assumed the animation of the JSB YOUTH GROUP (Young followers of Bosquito) with identity and membership in the Salesian Youth Movement.
Since then, the Salesian Cooperators of the “Juan Palomino Muñoz” Center, inspired by the legacy of Saint John Bosco, are a sensitive fiber as mentors and guides for young people. Its active presence in the community provides moral, educational and emotional support through accompaniment programs, training spaces, recreational and festive activities with children, social and pastoral projects. Their commitment to the comprehensive well-being of young people, in every community initiative they undertake, strengthens service, solidarity and love of neighbor.
Due to their connection with the SYM, many young people have grown and matured as conscious leaders and committed to their environment. Their experiences in going out strengthen and infect other young people attracted by their Salesian evangelizing spirit; They also have the support and welcome of their Parish Priest, who has also entrusted them with being protagonists in Church meetings.
In this small but spiritual canton, every ordinary day extraordinary stories are lived with the strength of the heart: Salesian Cooperators carrying out their evangelical apostolic commitment to the love of God, taking care of their training and programming meetings; Young people with a House that welcomes them with support to discover their specific vocation; a vibrant Parish attentive to caring for synodality as a Church.
