
Data de Posorja, Ecuador – June 2024. From June 21 to 23, it took place in Data de Posorja, with the participation of 70 Salesian Cooperators of the Region, represented in the provinces of Bolivia, Colombia – Bogotá, Colombia – Medellín, Peru and the host province Ecuador. The theme of the meeting was “From the Apostolic Life Project – PVA, let us continue with our dream in the Salesian style”, fulfilling the main objective of strengthening and deepening the knowledge and understanding of the Apostolic Life Project, through reflection, dialogue and the exchange of experiences, to inspire and motivate as that precious jewel in our charism, being a true roadmap for young people in the midst of the Family of Don Bosco.
On the first day, the delegations were received and the congress was inaugurated, where the harvest of the experiences of commitments assumed from the previous training Congresses was presented, given by Pablo Farfán, World Councilor Emeritus of the Region. On the second day, topics such as: Apostolic Life Project were discussed, with the Speaker being Martín Calderón, sc – World Councilor of the Inter-America Region, Apostolate and economic solidarity by Asmiriam Montilla, sc World Councilor Emeritus of the South Caribbean Pacific Region, Organization of the Regional Secretary by Deliana Almendras, current World Councilor of the Region. The Good Night was performed by Victoria Bernal, World Councilor Emerita of the South Caribbean Pacific Region, and there were moments of Festive Oratory and the Night of Joy. On the third day, the report, resonances and commitments that were presented from the questions posed in the different work groups were presented, leaving a true roadmap of commitments for 2 years: training in accompaniment and regional self-training techniques, programming an experience of spiritual exercise for Salesian cooperators at the local, zonal and provincial level, permanent updating of the casts, vocational option for young people, recognize new apostolic experiences of encounter and mission fields, program a spiritual retreat experience for young people at the local, zonal and provincial, make our apostolic experiences visible in the ASSCC World Newsletter, invite young people to the next meeting, among others.
There was also the presence of the SDB and FMA provincial delegates of Colombia (Sister Margarita María Fonnegra, Fr. José Antonio Santis – Medellín and Ecuador (Fr. Iván Segarra and Sister Judith Mocha), who provided timely and timely accompaniment at all times. We also appreciate the presence of Fr. Marcelo Farfán, Provincial of the Salesians in Ecuador, who greeted the participants, motivating young vocations and continuing with the mission that Don Bosco entrusted to the Salesian Cooperators, framed in the PVA. We thank the works to Fr. Luis Mosquera, who through the Don Bosco Printing Office (Jhony Guerra), Salesiano Bulletin (Fr. Ángel Lazo and Marcia Peña) and LNS Bookstores, were present with the details given to each participant, and Also to the team of the Secretariat of the Region (Deliana Almendras, Willy Rojas, Francisco Sánchez and Verónica Mariño) for their dedication and work done for the success of the Congress.
