
On Saturday, March 9, with the topic “Care of Digital Identity”, taught by Father Ricardo Cámpoli, delegate of the Communications Dicastery for the Inter-American region and Southern Cone of the SDB, a series of communication workshops began, that will be developed by the Salesian Cooperators of the Inter-American Region, in which basic communication skills in social networks will be worked on.
Victoria Mónico, regional manager of the area, welcomed all the participants, Martín Calderón, world councilor of the region, addressed a few words to the attendees, commenting that he would travel to the World Council meeting from March 14 to 17, inviting Pray for this activity. Next, Fabricio Umaña made the presentation of Father Ricardo.
The objective of the Meeting was to promote the responsible use of social networks, being clear about the image that one wants to present to others through these media.
Father Ricardo, taking reference from different authors, explained some aspects that make up the digital identity of people on the Internet. Using the figure of ¨Lolo¨, Father Ricardo developed the theme, inviting that ¨our behavior in real life be the same as our behavior in virtuality¨, emphasizing that everything that is experienced in the digital world It helps create connections, but everything will depend on each person’s digital use and responsibility.
After the presentation, the Salesian Cooperator, Lorena Valenzuela led a question and answer session. Next, Juanita Silva, responsible for formation in the region, invited people to participate in the II Meeting of Salesian Cooperators, young leaders of the region, to be held from April 11 to 14 in Antigua Guatemala.
The presentation was held via zoom and Facebook, the participants came from the 13 countries that make up the region, there were also Salesian Cooperators from Argentina, Paraguay, Ecuador and Peru.
The opening prayer was given by José Díaz from Guatemala and the final one was performed by Pierre Larocque from Canada.
