Rome (Italy). On June 13, 2025, the Ordinary Public Consistory, presided over by the Holy Father Leo XIV, established the dates of the rite of Canonization of eight Blesseds, including Sister Maria Troncatti (1883-1969), Daughter of Mary Help of Christians, missionary in Ecuador.
Sister Maria Troncatti will be Canonized on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
With great joy, the Superior General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, with the sisters of the General Council, learned the long-awaited news and addressed all the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians with these words:
“Dearest sisters, I reach you with joy and with you I thank the Lord for the great things He does in the Church and in the history of our Institute, with the direct intervention of Mary Help of Christians. I am convinced that the imminent canonization of Sister Maria Troncatti is for all the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians an extraordinary grace, a call to renew ourselves to continue, with courage and joy, the path of holiness that God asks us to follow today”.
In the message she focuses on some traits of her holiness: “The definition that sums it all up in a few words is certainly that of a happy and faithful Daughter of Mary Help of Christians and, therefore, Mother! In Her, the maternal dimension clearly emerges, which generates an abundance of life around her and finds its source in a profound intimacy with the Lord”.
The Mother ends by entrusting “our mission to Mary, Mother of the Church and first Missionary, in the awareness that, as she was for our Founders and for Sister Maria Troncatti, it is She who guides us, helps us, keeps our gaze open to new realities with a missionary and prophetic heart, a heart rich in humanity, compassion, hope”.
In view of this great event, an official Logo was created with the image of the Blessed, soon to be Saint, accompanied by the slogan: “Mother, Missionary, Artisan of Peace and Reconciliation”.
The website www.mariatroncatti.org is also being set up, with the biography, photos, texts, multimedia resources, news, all the material for further study and dissemination, initiatives and events promoted by Sister Maria’s home Inspectorate, the Lombardy Holy Family Inspectorate (ILO), and by the Sacred Heart Inspectorate (ECU), where she gave her life as a missionary.
